Michael Kendig has worked in the veterinary field since he was fourteen years old. He began cleaning cages and walking dogs in the boarding facility of a small animal clinic in Florida. He worked his way up to become a technician and then went off to vet school at Mississippi State University. He practiced for five years at that clinic before leaving Florida to purchase a clinic in southeastern Connecticut. This is where he met his wife, Sarah. Dr. Kendig heard the mountains calling and decided to sell his practice to his associate in June of 2015 so he could have his dream of living in the mountains.
At home, Dr. Kendig and his wife have four rescue dogs and four rescue cats. Lexi, Trixie, Belgo, Hemi, Norm Cat, Pango, Sadie, and Freya. He is a big supporter of rescuing and adopting animals that need homes. You can see most of their animals around the clinic and in the clinic’s advertisements.
He loves spending time with his wife when she is home on breaks from vet school. In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Kendig enjoys ultra running, hiking, target shooting and taking his Jeep off road.
